Multiboxing Basics
What is Multiboxing?
Multiboxing is the art of playing multiple characters in an MMO at the same time. I multibox five characters in World of Warcraft (WoW) and Jamba is an addon to WoW that I wrote to assist managing those five characters.
Why?
For fun, for a challenge and because I can.
How?
Multiboxing requires two or more WoW accounts and some key broadcasting software.
WoW Accounts
You need two or more WoW accounts to multibox. If you have two accounts, you are going to be playing twice the monthly subscription fee for WoW. Having two accounts is a good way to start without spending too much money upfront and you get a feel for multiboxing. Most people refer to two accounts as dual-boxing.
Key Broadcasting Software
Traditionally when you play WoW, the keys (on your keyboard) you press are sent by Windows to the WoW application. In order to multibox effectively, it would you multibox, The key broadcasting software is used to send
